Position Overview:
The Director of Business Development position presents an exciting growth opportunity, enriched with extensive training and development resources. This role will be responsible for driving large scale marketing partnership deals. Joining the Business Development and Ticket Sales Team, which boasts over 50 dedicated professionals, this role will collaborate closely with the VP of Ticket Sales & Service and lead a team of more than five reports. The team is notorious for its fast pace and excellence. Their new business campaigns always rank within the top franchises across the country. Key Role Expectations:
- Strategically Hit Revenue Goals: Work with business development senior team to formulate short and long term business strategy plans. Responsible for hitting and exceeding annual membership and ticket sales revenue goals.
- Lead Business Development Team: Serve as the direct report for our BD Team which consists of more than five team members.
- Manage Sales Campaign: Oversee and assist with the Early Bird sales campaign.
- Head Gameday Selling: Head gameday selling initiatives, focused on in-game closing, prospect events and prospect ticket utilization.
- Lead Membership Sales Events: Create and lead membership sales prospect event efforts, campaigns, event activation and event ROI.
- Create Leads: Serve as the main point of contact on deal memos and contract reviews for new deals. Assist in the creation and distribution of B2B and premium-qualified leads.
Skills & Experience You Will Bring:
- Industry Sales Leadership Experience: 10+ years of sales with 5+ years in leadership within a sports & entertainment organization.
- Industry Knowledge & Track Record: Demonstrated ability to effectively build brands and revenues, nurture and grow business alliances. Maintain knowledge of trends within markets and industries; recognize and address sales barriers to acquisition and retention.
- Proven Influential Manager: Experience in managing and motivating others, with attention to professional development of direct reports.
- Strategically & Operationally Strong: Understands the sales cycles and ability to think creatively when developing a program that will meet the partner's marketing objectives.
- Dynamic Experience: Has a track record of working at fast-paced sports organizations and operating well under pressure.
- Executive Presence: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and establish rapport quickly.
- Growth Mindset: Loves coaching and is also coachable. Excited to buy-in to the professional development program.
Location & Physical Requirements:
- Midwest Region
- Must be in the office Tuesday - Thursday. Work from home one day a week.
- Must be at home games and various prospect events. Can take 5 off a year.
