About the Team:

Our client is a prestigious professional sports team renowned for its excellence both on and off the field. With a rich history and a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive culture, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of People & Culture to join their leadership team.

Position Overview:

The Head of People & Culture will play a critical role in shaping and nurturing the team’s organizational culture. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, development, and retention, as well as implementing programs and policies that promote a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.

The ideal candidate will bring a competitive mindset, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure. These traits, combined with a passion for sports and a commitment to fostering a winning culture, will be essential for success in this role.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and execute HR strategies that align with the team’s overall business objectives and culture.
  • Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent across all functions within the organization.
  • Employee Development: Design and implement professional development programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of all team members.
  • Culture and Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture through engagement initiatives and diversity programs.
  • Performance Management: Oversee the performance management process, ensuring alignment with team goals and individual career development plans.
  • Employee Relations: Manage employee relations issues with sensitivity and a focus on resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance: Ensure all HR policies and practices comply with relevant laws and regulations.

 Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within the sports, entertainment, or related industries.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or HR certification is a plus.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team, with a strong focus on collaboration and team development.
  • Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to develop and implement effective HR strategies that drive organizational success.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Cultural Competency: Deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, and experience implementing related programs.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
